What is Recyclable?

Recyclable

  • Aluminum cans
  • Plastic bottles (milk, water, detergent, shampoo)
  • Glass bottles: clear, green, and brown
  • Steel and tin cans
  • Newspaper
  • Mail
  • Uncoated paperboard (cereal boxes, food boxes, snack boxes)
  • Uncoated printing and office paper
  • Uncoated corrugated cardboard

Non-Recyclable

  • Plastic bags
  • Ceramics
  • Light bulbs
  • Soiled paper (pizza boxes, paper plates and cups
  • Metal and glass cookware
  • Food waste
  • Napkins, paper towels, paper plates, and plastic utensils

Bulk Services – Monthly / 5 cu yds

Acceptable Waste:

  • Limit of five (5) cubic yard maximum bulk waste (approximately the size of 5 carts stacked together)
  • White goods, including washers/dryers/refrigerators/freezers (Note: appliances must have freon removed and be tagged by licensed contractor prior to placing on curb for collection)
  • Small furniture, mattresses
  • Brush tied in bundles
  • Bagged green waste**

Unacceptable Waste:

  • Waste classified as Hazardous or Special Waste which may violate or endanger nay person, party, permit, condition, legal or regulatory requirement or facilities, or present a danger to the health or safety of the public or employees.
  • These include, but no limited to:
    • Construction and demolition debris
    • Hazardous waste
    • Medical waste
    • Rocks, dirt, concrete, dimensional lumber, tree limbs larger than 4 inches in diameter and 49 inches in length 

** Bagged green waste is preferred in the trash cart (dark gray with green lid); waste must completely fit in cart with lid closed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The GREEN cart is your TRASH cart.
  • The BLUE cart is your RECYCLE cart.
To prevent any future problems, we ask that you bag any waste being placed in the gray and green Frontier Trash cart to help minimize loose trash/debris on street during service, odors, and the need to wash carts frequently.
Any accepted recycle can be placed loosely in the provided, blue Frontier Recycle cart. Place your cart facing the street with the wheels/handle towards the house *do not place under any low hanging wires or power lines bagging your trash will reduce molls & spills carts should be 4 ft from mailboxes, cars, or other carts.
Frontier Waste will begin service for residents on Thursday, June 1st.
No. The new trash and recycling carts will be delivered without additional cost. They will both be serviced once per week. If the 95-gal cart is not sufficient, an additional cart may be requested for an additional monthly rate though the City.

If your new 95-gal carts don’t meet your family’s needs, you can contact the City 940.398.7300 to request an additional cart for an additional monthly rate.

Frontier will observe three (3) holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas day, & New Year’s Day. Scheduled service that falls on one of these three holidays will be services the next service day. (Ex: Residents scheduled for trash service on Thanksgiving Thursday will be serviced on the following Friday. Scheduled recycling or bulk will be serviced the following Thursday.) All service days and holidays can be found via the “Waste Collection Days” Tab.

Carts should be placed with the lid opening facing the street and the wheels closest to the curb. Each cart should be a minimum of 4ft from any objects including mailboxes, fire hydrants, cars, other carts, etc.
