Trash Truck Driver Front Load Job Description
TRASH TRUCK DRIVER – FRONT LOAD


POSITION SUMMARY
Driver operates a truck that transports solid waste to and from specified destinations. Size of truck is more than 5 tons.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESONSIBLITIES
  • Operates a Front End Load commercial/solid waste or recycling collection truck and ancillary equipment on assigned route to commercial container customers, while providing excellent customer service
  • Deliver solid waste/recyclables to designated disposal/recycling facility
  • Load solid waste and or recyclables using automated FEL to service 2 yard to 8 yard commercial containers
  • Properly operates joystick to control front loading arms and forks to connect to container, watching for unintended contact with obstructions around the FEL container
  • Safely raise the container to unload into the truck hopper, makes sure adequate overhead clearance ensures no contact with structures, power lines, date lines or trees that may cause damage or injury
  • Practice proper backing procedures after servicing the container using cameras making sure back up alarms are working properly
  • Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery and pickup of containers to ensure timely service
  • Loads, secures and unloads truck and follows all safety procedures at landfills and transfer stations
  • Maintains radio or telephone communications with dispatcher and supervisor to receive instructions or notice of changes concerning deliveries or pickups
  • Maintains route sheets, vehicle inspection records, and follows all federal and state DOT regulations
  • Delivers solid waste/recyclable to designated disposal/recycling facility
  • Loads solid waste, yard waste, and/or recyclables into the rear or side of waste collection vehicle
  • Operates equipment to compact waste into the vehicle
  • Operates truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate Driver induced mechanical failures
  • Completes pre-trip – post trip inspections and reports daily
  • Communicates vehicle mechanical problems immediately
  • Maintains route quality safety and service standards
  • Maintains clean vehicle interior and exterior
  • Identify and tag prohibited waste items and remove
  • Responsible for completing daily pre & post trip inspections
  • Complies with all mandatory safety meetings & briefings, operational standards & policies, and maintains a valid Texas CDL and DOT medical card
  • Reports all safety and service incidents to the Supervisor immediately

MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS
  • At least 3 years of satisfactory driving experience of Class A or B vehicles preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to deal professionally with customers, dispatchers, mechanics and other drivers
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Excellent driving skills
  • Computer Skills: Basic use of Tablets and Applications
  • Pass drug screen and criminal background check
  • Successfully complete and pass a written and road test
  • Meet all Federal & State DOT requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical
  • Must be able to climb into and out of truck several times per day using 3 points of contact
  • Must be able to sit for long periods as well as walk for short periods
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl and squat in order to perform a full inspection of the underside of the truck and inspect tires for adequate inflation and potential damage
  • Must be able to work outside for short periods of time in all types of weather
  • Must be able to see and hear proficiently to operate a commercial motor vehicle in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work in a moderately noisy environment

EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License

Customer Service Representative Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Handle inbound/outbound inquiries which result in but not limited to: setting up new accounts and services, providing service contract information, resolving customer issues or questions, and collecting payment while delivering great customer service and leaving a positive impression.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESONSIBLITIES
  • Promptly and professionally answer inbound calls with the goal of providing an exceptional client experience
  • Manage difficult or emotional customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs and responds to requests for service and assistance
  • Provide accurate information about products and services to the customer
  • Accurately document all calls and account information
  • Identify and educate customers on services/products with the intent of suggestive upselling
  • Process customer payments
  • Perform outbound collection calls
  • Review, monitor, and follow up on any assigned accounts as appropriate
  • Protect customer information by keeping all information confidential
  • Update job knowledge by attending training and educational opportunities
  • Perform other assignments and duties as directed by supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • 1 year of call center experience highly preferred
  • 6 months work experience with Windows-based applications like Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
  • Data entry, keyboard skills and use of a 10 key calculator are required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborate with others effectively
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sitting for 6 – 8 hours a day
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 10 pounds

Fleet Service Technician Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
To inspect, repair, diagnose, and perform routine preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment, in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services
  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment
  • Review, complete, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance records in accordance with Company policies and State and Federal regulations in the absence of a Shop Manager
  • Read reports, technical manuals, and other documents to keep abreast of changes in the Company fleet, including all component parts
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles
  • When applicable, use welding skills and knowledge of metals to complete vehicle repairs
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience on heavy equipment and truck maintenance experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair
  • Ability to perform basic inspections with limited supervision in some (not all required) of the following heavy truck, or automotive systems: suspensions & steering; general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, diesel emissions
  • Experience with welding a plus
  • Must possess own hand tools
  • Able to work well with minimal supervision
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Ability to climb, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 75-100 pounds
  • Exposure to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) often
  • Exposure to physical environment which involves moving mechanical parts, fumes, dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements often

  • Graduate from an accredited automotive college or technical school

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required
