How do I begin receiving garbage collection service?

For residential service, contact City Hall at 817-389-3539, or in person at 200 W. Railroad St. Garbage service is setup when a water account is activated.

Service will be billed monthly from either the City of Godley or Johnson County Special Utility District depending on who supplies your water service.

For commercial service, contact Frontier Waste Solutions directly at 888-854-2905.

What are my garbage collection days?

Residential collection occurs on Friday unless it is a holiday or due to bad weather. Commercial collection occurs on Monday and Thursday. Residential bulk trash collection is always the last Wednesday of the month.

Recycling Guidelines

Please DO NOT bag recyclables!

Accepted Recyclable Items:

  • Aluminum beverage cans
  • Plastic containers/bottles numbered #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #7 (e.g., water, detergent, shampoo)
  • Glass bottles/jars: clear, green, and brown
  • Steel and tin food cans
  • Newspaper, junk mail, envelopes, magazines
  • Boxboard (e.g., cereal, food, snack boxes)
  • Printing and office paper
  • Cardboard

Unacceptable Recyclables:

  • Plastic bags, ceramics, light bulbs, soiled paper
  • Metal and glass cookware, toys, food waste, napkins
  • Yard waste, batteries, electronics, Styrofoam, clothing, tanglers, scrap metal
  • Paint, propane/helium tanks, window glass, construction waste, diapers

Hazardous Materials

How do I dispose of hazardous waste materials or bulk waste?

Household hazardous waste pickup is provided by our contracted garbage collection company once a month. To schedule pickup, please call 972-440-2040 or online at http://hhwsolutions.com/godley/.

Items must be in original containers with labels.

Acceptable items include: used motor oil and filters, antifreeze, batteries, paint, solvents and varnish, pool chemicals, herbicides and pesticides, cleaning products, paint strippers/thinners, fluorescent bulbs, engine degreaser, brake and transmission fluids, gasoline, diesel, kerosene.

Not accepted: medical and pharmaceutical items, explosives, fireworks, ammunition, asbestos containing materials, industrial/commercial/business waste, radioactive materials, large propane cylinders or other compressed gases, or any items without original labels or without caps/lids.

Brush/Bulk Collection

A combined 3 cubic yards of bulk/brush will be collected once a month, on the last Wednesday of every month.

Please have your bulk set to the curb by 7:00am that morning.

BULKY WASTE / BUNDLED ITEM COLLECTION GUIDELINES:

  • Weight of Bulky Items: Individual Bulky items must be light enough to be loaded into refuse vehicle by one person
  • Allowable set out amounts for monthly collection – 3 total yards of BULKY WASTE & BRUSH per month
  • Residents can set out acceptable BULKY items that are no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet
  • Please place smaller items in a container or box suitable for lifting items into collection vehicle
  • Please bundle items such as newspapers, old rugs or small sections of carpet, small limbs
  • Please tie and bundle brush into 3-foot-long bundles. This is to be included in your 3-yard limit.
  • YARD WASTE (leaves/grass) can be placed in your cart on your scheduled trash pickup day or set out for bulk collection in bags

This is a general guideline for determining bulk sizing.

  • 1 cubic yard is equivalent to the size of a stove.
  • 2 cubic yards is equivalent to the size of a standard truck bed.

ACCEPTABLE BULKY ITEMS INCLUDE:

  • Furniture such as tables, sofas, chairs, lawn furniture
  • Appliances such as washing machines, dryers, stoves, water heaters, etc..
  • Misc. items including TV’s, large toys, basketball goals, sports equipment, bikes, kid’s toys must be labeled “bulky item” so they are not mistakenly put into trash truck.
  • Refrigerators/Freezers/AC Units: IMPORTANT: Items MUST be tagged with proof of freon removal by certified technician in order to collect

BULKY ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED INCLUDE:

  • No construction materials from remodeling projects — must call Frontier to get a quote on roll off container or special pickup
  • No dirt, bricks, rock, concrete, sand, or shingles
  • No, stumps, branches, tree limbs or logs can be larger than 6 inches in diameter or heavier than 35 lbs.
    • must be split into pieces no larger than 6 inches in diameter
  • No batteries, tires, pressurized tanks (ex: propane, helium, oxygen, acetylene)
  • No oils of any kind, gas/diesel/fuel, paint, chemicals, solvents, other hazardous materials, etc.

FOR LARGE AMOUNTS OF BULKY WASTE / BRUSH / REMODELING /
CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS / RESIDENT MOVEOUT DEBRIS:
If you have a large amount of bulk waste, brush, or construction materials from a project, please contact FRONTIER to receive an estimate for material collection (by grapple truck) or delivery of a construction dumpster to accommodate your project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Trash should be set out by 7:00AM on your service day. If it is not placed out in time and is missed, the resident may call City Hall at 817-389-3539 and report the missed garbage the same day.

To prevent any future problems, we ask that you bag and tie any waste being placed in the Frontier Trash cart to help minimize loose trash/debris on street during service, odors, and the need to wash carts frequently.

Any accepted recycle can be placed loosely in the provided Frontier Recycle cart, do NOT bag items. Place your cart facing the street with the wheels/handle towards the house *do not place under any low hanging wires or power lines bagging your trash will reduce molls & spills carts should be 4 ft from mailboxes, cars, or other carts.

Acceptable Waste:

  • Limit of three (3) cubic yards maximum bulk waste (comparable to approximately three standard front load washing machines)
  • White goods, including washers/dryers/refrigerators/freezers (Note: appliances must have freon removed and be tagged by licensed contractor prior to placing on curb for collection)
  • Small furniture, mattresses
  • Brush tied in bundles. Cannot exceed 4 ft in length or 4 inches in diameter.
  • All grass clippings must be placed in bags

Unacceptable Waste:

  • Waste classified as Hazardous or Special Waste which may violate or endanger nay person, party, permit, condition, legal or regulatory requirement or facilities, or present a danger to the health or safety of the public or employees.
  • These include, but no limited to:
  • Construction and demolition debris
  • Household Hazardous waste
  • Medical waste
  • Rocks, dirt, concrete
  • Tires
