Trash Services:

Please have carts set out at the curb with cart handle facing your house by 7:00AM on your service day! FOR EXTRA TRASH OR RECYCLE CARTS: Please contact the City of Balch Springs Utility Billing Office.
  • Frontier Waste provides automated trash collection services.
  • Trash is serviced Twice per week utilizing Frontier Supplied Waste labeled carts.
  • Please place carts 4 feet from any objects (car, mailbox, tree) with the handle facing your house & lid opening facing the street. (refer to diagram for proper cart placement).
  • At City’s request, Frontier will only collect trash placed inside FRONTIER PROVIDED cart.
  • Please bag your trash in your cart to help eliminate wind-blown debris in your community.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS – Please do not dispose of the following in your trash cart: Chemicals, corrosive liquids or materials, flammable liquids or materials, explosive liquids or materials, biomedical liquids or materials, other toxic materials, paint, oils of all types. To protect our employees, please place sharps (diabetic needles) into a thick, hard plastic container prior to disposing of them into trash carts. View Trash Guidelines

Recycle Services:

Please do not bag recyclables in plastic bags.

  • Frontier Waste provides automated recycle collection services.
  • Recycling is serviced once per week using Frontier-supplied, recycling-labeled carts.
  • Please place carts 4 feet from any objects (car, mailbox, tree) with the handle facing your house. (Refer to the recycle guidelines for more details)

Accepted Recyclable Items:

  • Aluminum beverage cans
  • Plastic containers and bottles numbered #1, #2, #3, #5, #7 (water, detergent, shampoo bottles, etc.)
  • Steel and tin food cans
  • Newspaper, junk mail, envelopes, magazines
  • Boxboard (cereal boxes, food boxes, snack boxes)
  • Printing and office paper
  • Cardboard

Items Not Recyclable:

  • No plastic bags
  • No ceramics
  • No light bulbs
  • No soiled paper (pizza boxes, paper plates or cups)
  • No metal or glass cookware
  • No kids toys (stuffed animals, hard plastic toys, etc.)
  • No food waste
  • No napkins, paper towels, paper plates, or plastic utensils
  • No yard waste
  • No Styrofoam
  • No household hazardous waste

Bulk & Brush Collection

A combined 8 cubic yards of bulk and brush will be collected once per month, starting Monday on your designated bulk collection week.

Please have your bulk set to the curb by 7:00 AM Monday morning.

Refer to the QR code on the front page or the attached map for your scheduled week.

Bulky Waste / Bundled Item Collection Guidelines:

  • Individual bulky items must be light enough for one person to load into the collection vehicle.
  • Maximum allowable set-out: 8 total cubic yards of bulky waste and brush per month.
  • Place smaller items in a container or box suitable for lifting.
  • Bundle items such as newspapers, old rugs, small carpet sections, or small limbs.
  • Yard waste (leaves and grass) must be bagged and placed in your cart on your scheduled trash pickup day.

Acceptable Bulky Items Include:

  • Furniture (tables, sofas, chairs, lawn furniture)
  • Appliances (washing machines, dryers, stoves, water heaters, etc.)
  • Miscellaneous items (TVs, large toys, basketball goals, sports equipment, bikes, kids’ toys)
  • Refrigerators, freezers, and AC units:
    Items must be tagged with proof of freon removal by a certified technician.

Bulky Items Not Accepted:

  • No construction materials from remodeling projects (contact Frontier for a roll-off container or special pickup).
  • No dirt, bricks, rock, concrete, sand, or shingles.
  • No stumps, branches, tree limbs, or logs larger than 6 inches in diameter or heavier than 35 lbs.
  • Items must be split into pieces no larger than 6 inches in diameter.
  • No batteries, tires, or pressurized tanks (propane, helium, oxygen, acetylene).
  • No oils, gas, diesel, fuel, paint, chemicals, solvents, or other hazardous materials.
  • No refrigerators, freezers, or AC units containing freon or refrigerant.

Large Amounts of Bulk, Brush, or Construction Debris:

If you have a large amount of bulky waste, brush, remodeling debris, or resident move-out debris,
please contact Frontier for an estimate for grapple truck collection or delivery of a construction dumpster.
