Alice, the Jim Wells County seat, sits where US 281 meets State Highways 44 and 359, forty-four miles west of Corpus Christi by the City’s own description. Inside the city limits we serve businesses, from a shop’s 2 to 8-yard bin on a pickup schedule to a roll-off parked at a contractor’s commercial job. Past those limits, ranches, oil leases, rural homes and job sites across the county can book any of them.

How a Frontier drop works
- 1
Tell us the job
What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.
- 2
Get the right size
Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.
- 3
We set it down
On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.
- 4
Call when it’s full
We haul it away and handle the disposal.

The City landfill's no-concrete rule
The City of Alice runs its own landfill, and the rules it posts shape what a job in town can haul there itself. The City’s landfill page gives a resident who shows an ID and a water bill carrying the garbage fee one free disposal a week, plus free dumping all day Saturday, but commercial and construction/demolition loads aren’t part of that. Some materials aren’t taken at all: cement and concrete, refrigerators, freezers and A/C units, and oilfield mud or brine. Every load has to come in enclosed or covered.
For a business or a contractor, a roll-off on site is usually simpler. Broken slab, block and brick go in our 20-yard, the card we mark for concrete, bricks and heavy debris. An office cleanout is 30-yard work, and a storefront remodel or an old shop building coming down calls for the 40, listed for remodeling and demolition; here’s more on a container for a storefront or office remodel.

Metal buildings, barns and the May 2025 bow echo
Late on May 8, 2025, the southern edge of a bowing storm line pushed a surge of stronger wind over west Alice just after 9 p.m., and the KALI station at Alice International Airport measured an 89 mph gust, NOAA’s storm records show. The records also list metal buildings west of the city limits with failed column anchorage and overhead doors blown in or out, a fast-food restaurant in town that lost more than 20 percent of its roof covering, two tractor-trailers flipped at US 281 and FM 1554, and a barn demolished along FM 1554.
The southeast side took its own hit on May 27, 2014, when an EF1 tornado touched down near Highway 359 and Stadium Road and ran 2.3 miles, destroying a metal building and a portable building and stripping siding from others, while baseball-size hail fell in east-central Alice, according to the same records. Twisted panels, framing and insulation from a damaged shop are storm debris and demolition, the jobs on our 40-yard card; for shingles and decking, see roll-offs for re-roofing a shop or storefront.
The County's checklist before a dozer pile burns
Outside the city limits, Jim Wells County sets conditions before a brush pile can be burned. Its prescribed burn notification form has the burner call the Sheriff’s dispatcher before lighting, and it requires relative humidity above 30 percent, wind between 6 and 20 mph, an air temperature no higher than 85°F at the start, a line scraped to mineral soil at least 8 feet wide around dozer piles, and 100 gallons of water or a tractor and disc on site. Without an approved written burn plan, no pile gets lit or fed after 1 p.m. Bans come on top of that: the Commissioners Court approved a 90-day countywide ban on August 31, 2026, and the County posted the order lifting it on October 5. NOAA’s records show the risk, among them the Loma East wildfire of March 1, 2022, which south winds gusting 50 to 55 mph spread across 461 acres off County Road 144. On days that don’t qualify, haul the brush off in a 40-yard instead, since large landscaping is on that card.

Alice dumpster rental questions
Do you deliver to ranches and homes outside Alice?
Yes. Past the city limits, a house, a barn, a set of pens or a job site anywhere in rural Jim Wells County can have a roll-off dropped in whichever size the job needs. It's working country: the USDA's 2022 Census of Agriculture counts 960 farms in the county, with more of their land in pasture (219,873 acres) than in any other use and 28,174 cattle and calves on December 31, 2022. For steady service at a rural address rather than a one-time container, our Corpus Christi team can set you up with bulk pickups and a regular schedule; see scheduled rural pickup from our Corpus Christi crews. Call (936) 258-9035 and give us the county road.
Which Jim Wells County town has Frontier as its city trash provider?
Orange Grove. It's one of the cities Frontier serves under contract, each of which names Frontier its official waste service provider. Alice handles household garbage through the City's own Sanitation Division, which carries it to the City landfill, so in town our customers are businesses, building contractors and commercial projects.
What can't go in a roll-off at a ranch or lease site?
Frontier's list of things a dumpster can't take covers hazardous waste, contaminated soil, tires, undrained appliances, household cleaning fluids, medical waste, and inks and resins. Barns and shops hold a few more problem items: insecticides, fertilizer, car batteries and propane tanks of any size can start a fire inside a garbage truck, so check the full fire-risk list for barns and shops before loading. If you're unsure about something, call (936) 258-9035 and ask.
