Portland sits on a bluff above Nueces Bay, across the water from Corpus Christi, and the Census Bureau’s July 1, 2025 estimate puts all 20,833 residents on the San Patricio County side of the city. For Portland businesses and the contractors building for them, we bring roll-offs from 20 to 40 yards and set 2 to 8-yard bins. Outside the city limits, farms, rural homes and job sites across unincorporated San Patricio County can book any of them.

How a Frontier drop works

  1. 1

    Tell us the job

What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.

  2. 2

    Get the right size

Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.

  3. 3

    We set it down

On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.

  4. 4

    Call when it’s full

We haul it away and handle the disposal.

A six-mile pipeline to the GCGV plant

On October 1, 2026, the City of Portland announced a 40-year agreement to sell reclaimed wastewater from its treatment plant to Gulf Coast Growth Ventures for use at GCGV’s plant in San Patricio County. The City says GCGV will fund about six miles of underground pipeline, plus pumping and delivery equipment, and the City will own and operate the system once it’s built. Today that treated water goes into Nueces Bay, an average of 1.7 million gallons a day by the City’s count.

It adds to years of industrial building around Portland. The City’s financial report for the year ended September 30, 2025 says Cheniere Energy, Gulf Coast Growth Ventures and Steel Dynamics have brought construction jobs and long-term investment that reach through at least 2027. Broken concrete and brick from site work belong in the 20-yard, and Frontier lists the 40 for large construction; compare the dimensions of all three roll-offs.

Hail from Taft to Portland, November 1, 2025

Hail bigger than 2.5 inches is rare in South Texas, NOAA’s storm records note, and the supercells of November 1, 2025 produced South Texas’s first documented 3-inch hail outside the March-to-June season. The most significant property damage was in San Patricio County, along a corridor between Taft and Portland: dented cars and broken windshields, plus damaged windows, siding and roofs on homes. Reports in the same records put stones at 2.75 inches northeast of Portland and just south of Gregory, and an automated station 3 miles east of Portland measured a 69 mph gust.

Hurricane Harvey’s toll in August 2017 reached wider. Across San Patricio County it affected almost 8,700 homes and left 72 businesses with major damage, NOAA’s records show; in Portland, the damage was widespread minor roof damage, downed fences and a few fallen trees. Roofing appears on both the 20 and 30-yard cards and storm debris on the 40-yard’s; here’s more on roof replacement roll-offs.

Residents only at the Moore Avenue drop-off

The City’s 2026 solid waste guide sets out three ways for debris to leave a Portland property, and only one is open to a contractor:

Monthly bulk pickup, for residents: piles within a 12-cubic-yard area (12 feet long, 7 deep and 4 high), with extra cost for anything bigger, and no construction materials at the curb.

The Citizen Collection Center at 1109 Moore Avenue, for residents with a photo ID and proof of a Portland address: free, and it takes home remodeling materials, but the guide is plain about it: no contractors and no commercial dumping.

A roll-off, for contractors, businesses and commercial job sites: framing, drywall, shingles and packaging from the job go into one container on site.

Portland dumpster rental questions

Do you work outside Portland's city limits?

Yes. Farms, rural homes and job sites in unincorporated San Patricio County can order a 20, 30 or 40-yard container. A rural property that would rather have regular collection can ask about the bulk pickups and scheduled service described on our page for rural trash service from our Corpus Christi team. For a delivery out there, call (936) 258-9035 and tell us the county road or ranch gate we're headed to.

Which towns near Portland use Frontier for city trash service?

Two San Patricio County cities, Aransas Pass and Taft, list Frontier as their official waste service provider; both appear among the towns that name Frontier their official provider. Portland arranges household collection through its own City contract, so inside Portland we work with businesses, contractors and commercial job sites.

What has to stay out of a storm-cleanup roll-off?

Siding, shingles, fence boards and limbs can share a container, and the 40-yard is the size Frontier lists for storm debris. Hazardous waste, tires, undrained appliances and household cleaning fluids can't go in, and pool chemicals, propane tanks, batteries and wet paint can start fires in a truck; see every fire-risk item we refuse.
