Mexia sits where US 84 crosses State Highways 14 and 171, about 40 miles east of Waco, as the City describes its location. Inside the city limits, Frontier works with businesses and contractors, setting commercial bins from 2 to 8 yards and roll-offs for job sites, storefront remodels and roof tear-offs. Out in the county, homes, ranches and acreage can choose from all three roll-off sizes.

How a Frontier drop works

  1. 1

    Tell us the job

What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.

  2. 2

    Get the right size

Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.

  3. 3

    We set it down

On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.

  4. 4

    Call when it’s full

We haul it away and handle the disposal.

Roof, demolition and occupancy permits in Mexia

Mexia’s permit fee schedule, in effect since May 1, 2025, has permit lines for replacing a roof on a house or on a commercial building, and for demolishing a structure, with separate demolition entries for homes, commercial buildings and accessory structures. The same schedule requires a certificate of occupancy for every business. The contractor pulls the City permit and we set the container. Our 20-yard card covers roofing, concrete and bricks, and demolition sits on the 40.

Once the doors open, a shop, office or restaurant needs steady pickup rather than a one-time box. Frontier’s business containers range from 2 to 8 yards, and pickup can be scheduled up to six times a week. Casters that make a container easy to move fit the 2, 3 and 4-yard sizes, and every size can carry lid locks and a gravity bar. Here’s how bin service sized for a Mexia storefront gets set up.

Culverts, fence lines and county roads

Beyond Mexia’s city limits we serve homes, ranches and job sites alike, and a lot of Limestone County lives out there. The Census Bureau’s Vintage 2025 estimates count 22,849 people in the county on July 1, 2025, and 9,830 of them outside any incorporated city or town. The county’s oil history runs through that country too: the City’s history page says the Rogers No. 1, the well that opened the Mexia field, was completed on November 19, 1920, on a farm three miles west of town, and the Handbook of Texas calls 1922 the field’s peak year, at 35 million barrels.

A new homesite out there starts with Limestone County Road & Bridge. Its 911 address and driveway culvert application calls for new corrugated metal culverts, installed with the road administrator’s approval, and for fencing set 30 feet from the middle of the road. Plan the container’s spot inside that fence line, on firm ground the truck can back onto.

Lake Mexia, Fort Parker and the May 2024 floods

The Navasota River feeds two lakes near Mexia. Texas Parks and Wildlife says Lake Mexia, seven miles west of the city off US 84, was impounded in 1961, and that Civilian Conservation Corps crews finished the dam that formed Fort Parker Lake in 1939, two years before Fort Parker State Park’s grand opening on May 1, 1941.

This is river country, and it floods. On May 1, 2024, NOAA’s storm records show high water over several US 84 bridges, the Lake Mexia bridge among them, a stranded motorist at Highways 14 and 171, and a water rescue at 800 East Commerce Street in Mexia. On May 15, 2024, the Limestone County judge declared a local state of disaster over severe weather and flooding that had started on April 26. When water reaches a business in town or a home out in the county, the soaked carpet, drywall and furniture have to go somewhere, and a renovation roll-off after the Navasota rises keeps that pile in one place.

Golf-ball hail on the county roads below Mexia

Hail keeps finding the farm roads south of town. On March 23, 2025, Limestone County’s emergency manager reported half-dollar to ping-pong-ball hail along LCR 456 south of Mexia, and on April 28, 2026, golf-ball hail fell 7 miles south of town, NOAA’s storm records show. The next evening, a photo showed quarter to half-dollar hail on LCR 433, according to the same records. A shingle tear-off on a farmhouse or barn out there calls for a roll-off for a hail-pocked ranch-house roof, and roofing is one of the uses printed on our 20-yard card.

Mexia dumpster rental questions

Do big events outside Mexia need a county permit?

Some do. Limestone County's mass-gathering instructions, written under Chapter 751 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, cover events outside any city's limits that are expected to draw more than 2,500 people and to run more than five continuous hours or at any point between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. A lower line of 500 people applies when most of the crowd is expected to be under 21 and alcohol will be served. The organizer applies through the Sheriff's office at least 45 days ahead, and the Sheriff's Office, EMS and emergency management sign off to make sure health, sanitation and safety standards are met. Our 30-yard card lists large events, and Frontier's event waste planning covers the bins and pickups for the grounds.

Which Limestone County towns use Frontier for trash pickup?

Groesbeck, Kosse and Thornton. All three are on Frontier's municipal service list, as are Jewett in Leon County, Marlin in Falls County and Riesel in McLennan County. Groesbeck, by the Handbook of Texas's reckoning, lies 12 miles southwest of Mexia.

What has to stay out of a roll-off from a Mexia job?

Hazardous waste, contaminated soil, undrained appliances, medical waste, inks and resins, and tires. Batteries, pool chemicals, solvents, wet paint and propane, helium or oxygen tanks stay out too, because they can start truck fires. Mexia's own code draws a similar line for the City's trash canisters: Section 13.03.003 lists tires, batteries and hazardous materials of any kind as materials the City won't accept.
