Nolanville started out as Nolan Valley on South Nolan Creek, just east of Killeen in western Bell County, the Handbook of Texas says, and Interstate 14 now runs through town. Nolanville businesses can keep a commercial bin from 2 to 8 yards on a regular schedule, and builders, remodelers and commercial job sites in town can book roll-offs. Outside the city limits, Bell County homes and acreage can rent whichever of the three sizes suits the job.

How a Frontier drop works
- 1
Tell us the job
What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.
- 2
Get the right size
Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.
- 3
We set it down
On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.
- 4
Call when it’s full
We haul it away and handle the disposal.

What Nolanville's permit desk asks of builders
Nolanville’s building-permit page keeps the rules short. Any construction that physically changes or adds structures to a property needs a permit, and that permit expires after 180 days unless construction continues or the City grants an extension. Here are a few items from the City’s list, with the container each one tends to call for:
Moving or demolishing a building requires a City permit. A teardown takes up room quickly, and our 40-yard holds about 12 pickup-truck loads.
New structures, from houses and garages to storage sheds and carports, need permits as well. Framing scraps and packaging from new construction suit the 40, which is carded for large construction.
Non-structural roof covering is on the City’s list of jobs that don’t need a permit, but the old shingles still have to leave the site. Roofing debris is printed on our 30-yard card.
Contractors can register with the City online, and here’s how roll-off rentals for Nolanville builders work.

Fort Hood's neighbor keeps growing
The Handbook of Texas says Nolanville incorporated in 1966 with 200 residents and six businesses, then grew into a suburb as the Killeen and Fort Hood area expanded. The Army dates Fort Hood to 1942 and says the post now covers 218,000 acres across Bell and Coryell counties; it carried the Fort Cavazos name from May 9, 2023, until the Army restored Fort Hood on June 11, 2025.
The Census Bureau’s Vintage 2025 estimates put Nolanville at 7,983 people on July 1, 2025, up 34.8% from an April 1, 2020 estimates base of 5,922, and the Bureau’s QuickFacts show the city’s land area rising from 3.45 to 4.25 square miles between the 2010 and 2020 censuses. Plenty of residents move, too: in the Bureau’s 2020–2024 American Community Survey, 75.0% had lived in the same house a year earlier. For property managers turning units over, a roll-off handles the make-ready, and scheduled bins for rental communities cover the weeks in between.
No county building permit, but a driveway permit
Past Nolanville’s limits, the Bell County Engineer’s Office says unincorporated areas have no building permit, building code or zoning. The County still reviews new driveways: approval rests on criteria that include a site visit, and public safety comes first in deciding a driveway’s location and size. An on-site sewage permit from the Bell County Health District also comes with a floodplain exemption certificate that the Engineer’s Office checks. Burning has firm limits. The County Fire Marshal allows only natural vegetation, brush and trees, and burning tires, plastics, rubber, manufactured wood or treated wood is a Class A misdemeanor in Bell County, so treated deck boards, plastic and remodel scraps go in a container instead.
Storms add to the pile. On May 26, 2025, a homeowner north of Stillhouse Hollow Lake reported uprooted and snapped trees, large limbs on his roof and damaged outbuildings, NOAA’s storm records show. Storm debris is listed on our 40-yard card, and a roof-repair roll-off for wind-damaged houses comes next once the limbs are cleared.

Nolanville dumpster rental questions
Is Frontier the trash company anywhere in Bell County?
Yes, in Troy, which is on Frontier's list of official municipal providers. There, residential carts go out on Wednesdays and businesses are collected on Tuesday or Friday depending on the address, according to Frontier's collection page for Troy. Lampasas, in Lampasas County, is on the same list.
How close to South Nolan Creek can a job-site roll-off go?
Keep it on high, firm ground, well back from the creek and the ditches that drain to it. The creek can rise quickly: NOAA's storm records note that South Nolan Creek and Twin Creek Road rose 6.32 feet in less than 45 minutes on June 12, 2025, and that emergency management took a high-water call on Interstate 14 near mile marker 290 in Nolanville on May 16, 2024. The City also says Nolan Creek is classified as impaired by bacteria and nutrients, which is one more reason to keep loose debris out of it.
Do you deliver to homes outside Nolanville?
Yes. Past the city limits we deliver to homes, acreage and building sites across Bell County. Our drivers need firm, level ground for the container and a clear approach of 60 feet or more, plus 21 feet of height above the drop that's free of limbs and lines. A free site survey can settle the exact spot.
