New Braunfels spans two counties, Comal and Guadalupe, and the City of New Braunfels counts Frontier Waste Solutions among the private haulers permitted to work inside its limits, for construction debris and commercial recycling. Remodels, re-roofs, teardowns and new builds in town get our roll-offs, sized at 20, 30 or 40 yards, and so do acreage and job sites across both counties.

How a Frontier drop works

  1. 1

    Tell us the job

What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.

  2. 2

    Get the right size

Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.

  3. 3

    We set it down

On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.

  4. 4

    Call when it’s full

We haul it away and handle the disposal.

Where the City's own collection stops

New Braunfels runs its own garbage service, and its code spells out where that service ends. Section 110-5 says the City’s Solid Waste and Recycling Division doesn’t dispose of construction leftovers such as brick, broken concrete, lumber, dirt, plaster, sand or gravel. The free Bulky Garbage Drop Off days, held once a quarter at sites that include City Hall and the New Braunfels Utilities service center on FM 306, turn away construction, demolition and remodeling materials as well. The paid curbside bulky pickup is meant for household furniture, and Section 110-42 of the code caps tree limbs at 10 feet long and 18 inches across.

So the kitchen gut, the re-roof and the shed teardown fall to a hauler on the City’s permit list. Ours come in three sizes: the 20-yard for concrete, brick and roofing, the 30 for home renovation projects, and the 40 for demolition and large construction.

Floods on the Comal and the Guadalupe

Both rivers have flooded parts of New Braunfels. NOAA’s Storm Events Database records July 2002, when Canyon Dam sent water over its spillway for the first time in history and thousands were evacuated along the Guadalupe and in the city; NOAA’s entry has the Comal River at New Braunfels cresting at 19.73 feet on July 8 that year, against a flood stage of 15 feet. On June 9, 2010, a National Weather Service storm survey in the same database found the Guadalupe had risen more than 20 feet in under two hours, and 30 vehicles and 14 RVs were pulled from the river in Comal County. As recently as July 5, 2025, NOAA’s records show evacuations on River Road and at least a dozen low-water crossings closed west of New Braunfels.

When the water goes down, soaked carpet, drywall and cabinets all have to leave the house, and the 30-yard, carded for home renovation projects, usually fits. Read more about gutting rooms after water damage.

Hail on the west side

NOAA’s storm records show hail hitting the west side of town in several recent springs: two-inch stones in New Braunfels on March 21, 2022, golf-ball-size hail in the Vintage Oaks neighborhood northwest of the city on March 2, 2023, and ping-pong-ball-size hail on the west side on April 20, 2024. Replacing a roof after a storm like that leaves a heavy pile of shingles and underlayment, the load our 20-yard card names for roofing. Before the crew starts, line up a roll-off for shingle tear-offs.

One city, two counties, both growing

By the Census Bureau’s Vintage 2025 estimates, New Braunfels grew from 90,394 residents (the April 2020 base) to 122,492 on July 1, 2025, more than a third larger in about five years. The same Census estimates place about 95,000 of those residents on the Comal County side and about 27,500 on the Guadalupe side. Outside every city, the unincorporated balance of Comal County went from 78,977 to 98,300, by the same count.

All those new households mean additions, fences, patios and fresh construction. Businesses in town and across both counties can ask us about 2 to 8-yard bins, emptied up to six times a week. Nearby Schertz and Selma both use Frontier as their official waste provider, and we rent roll-offs in Schertz as well.

New Braunfels dumpster rental questions

Can I set the roll-off on the street outside my house?

Not in New Braunfels. Section 110-61 of the City code strictly prohibits putting containers in streets, rights-of-way, the traveled part of alleys and sight triangles, so plan on the driveway or a spot on the lot. Leave the driver a hard, level place to set it, with 60 feet of approach room and nothing lower than 21 feet overhead.

Can my New Braunfels shop or office get a commercial bin from Frontier?

Yes, whether the business sits inside the city limits or out in Comal or Guadalupe County. The bins range from 2 yards to 8, our trucks can empty one up to six times a week, and when the same property needs a remodel or a build-out, our roll-offs handle that debris too. Phone (210) 807-8555, give us the street address, and tell us roughly how much the business fills in a week.

Where do paint and pool chemicals go?

To the City's Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off at City Hall, 550 Landa Street, which is free for City of New Braunfels and Comal County residents. The date on the City's calendar right now is Saturday, October 17, 2026, running 8 a.m. until noon. You'll need a state-issued photo ID, products sealed in their labeled containers, and no trailer, since the City doesn't allow them. None of it belongs in a roll-off; here are the hazardous items Frontier won't haul.
