How a Frontier drop works

  1. 1

    Tell us the job

What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.

  2. 2

    Get the right size

Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.

  3. 3

    We set it down

On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.

  4. 4

    Call when it’s full

We haul it away and handle the disposal.

Along the 183A corridor

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority built 183A Toll in three stretches, its 183A page says: the first opened in March 2007, the extension north to Hero Way in April 2012, and the 5-mile run from Hero Way to north of SH 29 in early 2025. Announcing that last segment on April 8, 2025, the Mobility Authority cited continued residential and commercial growth along the corridor. Leander’s population bears that out. The Census Bureau’s Vintage 2025 estimates show the city at 91,132 people on July 1, 2025, up from 59,235 on the April 1, 2020 estimates base.

Commercial builds going up along 183A are work for our 40-yard, which carries large construction on its card. When a shop or office opens, it can switch to bins for new shops and offices, sized from 2 to 8 yards, with pickups up to six times a week.

Baseball-size hail in Deerbrooke

NOAA’s Storm Events Database holds a run of hail reports from the evening of May 16, 2025, when storms riding a cold front crossed Leander: three-inch stones from a National Weather Service employee, baseball-size hail in the Deerbrooke neighborhood and two-inch hail in Carneros Ranch from members of the public, golf balls in North Creek Ranch from a trained spotter, and pea- to golf-ball-size hail that dented cars and shredded leaves from a CoCoRaHS observer. Seven years earlier, on May 20, 2018, a Weather Service survey traced an EF1 tornado that touched down near Hero Way on the north side of Leander, damaged roofs and trees, then followed Ronald Reagan Boulevard north across SH 29 and faded near the Santa Rita Ranch entrance.

Roofing contractors working Leander after storms like these need somewhere to put the tear-off. Our 20-yard card names roofing and the 30-yard card names roofing debris, so line up a tear-off container for each roofing crew before the first shingles come down. Homeowners outside the city limits can order the same containers.

Clearing land: burn permit, trench or a 40-yard

Leander’s Fire Marshal’s Office sets separate rules inside and outside the city limits, and NOAA’s records show what’s at stake: the Moonglow Wildfire started in Leander on September 5, 2011, burned 300 acres and destroyed 11 homes.

RouteWhat it takes
Open burnBanned in the city by ordinance, with a few exceptions such as permitted clearing on lots over two acres. Outside the limits, in either county: approved materials only, Fire Department authorization, no burn ban, a small pile (the department suggests four feet square) and wind of 6 to 23 mph.
Air-curtain trenchA Fire Marshal’s permit; the pit measures 14 by 40 feet and 10 feet deep inside an 8-foot fence, sits over 300 feet from any property line, and is loaded only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
40-yard roll-offOur 40-yard card lists large landscaping, storm debris and demolition. Fill it at your own pace, and we haul it away.

Roofing and tar paper are on the department’s never-burn list, whichever route the brush takes. Check the 40-yard beside the 20 and 30 before choosing its spot.

Leander dumpster rental questions

Where should a roll-off sit on a commercial site in Leander?

On firm, level ground the truck can get to. Our trucks want a run of 60 feet or more into the drop spot and 21 feet of height, free of branches and wires. On a new site along 183A, call (210) 807-8555 before the curbs and landscaping go in, so placement is settled early; site surveys are free.

Can household trash be burned on acreage outside Leander?

Not where collection is available. The Leander Fire Department's outdoor-burning page says domestic waste can't be burned when trash service is available under the contract for that area, and that if your service contract matches the City of Leander's, you cannot burn. For a barn, shed or farmhouse cleanout outside the city, a 20 or 30-yard roll-off handles the load.

Do you work on the Travis County side of Leander?

Yes. Inside the city limits, that means businesses, contractors and commercial job sites in either county; outside the limits, any home, lot or acreage in Travis or Williamson County. The fire department's rules for burning outside the city apply to residents of both counties, too.
