How a Frontier drop works

  1. 1

    Tell us the job

What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.

  2. 2

    Get the right size

Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.

  3. 3

    We set it down

On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.

  4. 4

    Call when it’s full

We haul it away and handle the disposal.

McQueeney and Placid are full again

The Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority owns the string of hydroelectric lakes on the Guadalupe between New Braunfels and Seguin, and 2026 brought two of them back. GBRA’s lakes page says new spillgates were finished on Lake Placid in February 2026 and on Lake McQueeney that March, and both lakes returned to normal pool elevation in April. Lake Dunlap recovered first: a spillgate failure on May 14, 2019 drained it, as GBRA reported at the time, and the authority completed Dunlap’s replacement gates in October 2023.

With both lakes at normal pool, any waterfront project starts with GBRA. Owners next to its hydroelectric lakes need the authority’s approval before building or altering a dock or other waterfront structure, and since September 1, 2026, GBRA has also required a Dock Construction Permit application. When an old dock, deck or boathouse comes apart, the 40-yard is our listed size for demolition. Check how long and tall each container is against the space you have near the water.

Guadalupe County leaves the hauling to you

Beyond the city limits, Guadalupe County’s trash disposal page puts household waste on residents: they either sign up with a private curbside company or take their refuse to a landfill themselves. Three county policies shape what happens to anything bigger:

The burn ban. A Commissioners Court order prohibits outdoor burning in unincorporated Guadalupe County for 90 days beginning September 2, 2026, and it expires December 1 unless the County lifts it sooner. While it stands, leaves and branch trimmings can’t be burned on any property.

What never goes on a fire. Ban or no ban, the Fire Marshal’s burn rules forbid burning treated lumber, plastics, asphaltic materials and non-wood construction or demolition debris.

What clean-up day refuses. The County’s free bulk clean-up event for residents turns away brush and limbs, fencing, sheds and construction debris such as asphalt shingles, insulation and sheetrock.

A roll-off picks up where those rules stop. We list the 40-yard for storm debris and large landscaping jobs, and the 20 for concrete, bricks and roofing.

A tornado on Huber Road, wind on Lake Placid

NOAA’s Storm Events Database shows what wind has done around Seguin. On October 30, 2015, a tornado formed in a field just south of Cordova Road and tracked about 8.3 miles north-northwest; the National Weather Service survey recorded there counted about 20 homes damaged and roughly five destroyed, the worst along and off CR 105, Huber Road, with peak winds estimated at 111 to 120 mph. The lake neighborhoods west of town catch wind too. NOAA logs gusts estimated at 70 mph dropping a tree across Turtle Lane along Lake Placid on June 9, 2019, and 60 mph gusts damaging a tree and a roof near the lake on June 14, 2021.

For a re-roof after a blow like that, our size cards point to the 20-yard. Read more about a roll-off for wind-stripped shingles before the crew pulls the first course.

Seguin dumpster rental questions

Who can Frontier serve in and around Seguin?

Inside the city limits, we work for businesses: commercial bins, plus roll-offs for shopfronts, contractors and commercial jobs. Past the city limits, Guadalupe County leaves hauling to private companies, so homes, acreage and lake lots out there can book any of our containers. Frontier does hold city contracts in Schertz, Selma, St. Hedwig, Universal City and Gonzales; the full list of our contract cities is on our site. Close to the line? Phone (210) 807-8555 and we'll check the address with you.

What won't Seguin's city collection take?

Construction debris, for a start. The City's garbage guide says its hauler won't pick up sheetrock, shingles, tile or insulation, and the City's trash page caps bulky pickups at two items per quarter. Under the City's brush rules, crews reach each zone once every five weeks and take limbs up to 5 feet long and 12 inches thick, but not brush from land cleared with heavy equipment. The City's free Clean-Up Day at the Seguin Coliseum turns away building materials, old fences and sheds as well.

Who picks up leftover paint and pool chemicals in Seguin?

A City program does, at the door, for households with City garbage service. The City's household hazardous waste page offers pickups every Monday, booked ahead online. Paint, solvents, pool and lawn chemicals and motor oil all qualify; chemicals have to stay in their original labeled containers, the City's rules turn away anything over 5 gallons, and business waste is refused. Keep all of it out of the roll-off, too, and look over the paint, solvents and tanks we turn away before you load.
