Forty Dutch immigrants arrived at Nederland, seven miles southeast of Beaumont, in November 1897, the Handbook of Texas records, and refineries and related petroleum industries became the mainstays of its economy. The City’s sanitation crews pick up household garbage, so inside the city limits we serve businesses, contractors and commercial job sites, with roll-off containers up to 40 yards and 2 to 8-yard bins. Past the city line, in unincorporated Jefferson County, we deliver to homes and acreage too.

How a Frontier drop works
- 1
Tell us the job
What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.
- 2
Get the right size
Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.
- 3
We set it down
On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.
- 4
Call when it’s full
We haul it away and handle the disposal.

Tear-downs, remodels and new builds in Nederland
Nederland’s sanitation crews stop where a contractor’s work starts. The City’s solid waste page and its code split the debris this way:
Demolition and remodeling. The City’s solid waste page says crews make a one-time pickup of 4 cubic yards when an owner tears down a building, but once a contractor is hired to demolish or remodel, that contractor disposes of all the material.
New construction and fire damage. Contractors and building owners haul away all new construction debris, and after a fire the City picks up furniture only, never the burned debris.
Heavy material. Section 86-36(a) of the City code leaves brick, broken concrete, lumber, plaster, sand and gravel to the owner or whoever controls them, at their own expense.
Job sites get looked at, too: the City’s August 2026 infrastructure update counts eleven construction-site inspections under its stormwater program. For broken slabs and brick, the 20-yard is the card to pick; for a full tear-down, the 40-yard lists demolition. Check the load guide for all three roll-offs before you book.
The 2022 tornado and June 2026's high water
NOAA’s storm records put an EF1 tornado in Nederland on May 25, 2022. It destroyed the roof of one home, damaged a few others and brought down numerous trees and fences along a path a little over a mile long, and media reported roof damage to a business in town that same morning. Water did the wider damage on June 21, 2026, when very heavy rain flooded large parts of Groves, Nederland and Port Arthur, the same records show, leaving many roads impassable and numerous homes flooded.
Repair work like that keeps roofers and remodelers busy. Our 30-yard card names roofing debris and the 40-yard names storm debris; crews stripping shingles and decking off a commercial building can read about dumpsters for roofing crews.

Nederland dumpster rental questions
Does a tree service need a permit to work in Nederland?
Yes. Section 86-36 of the City code requires anyone trimming or removing trees on someone else's property in the city to get a City permit and post a performance bond for each property before work starts; the permit itself is free. A paid crew must clear any trimmings beyond what the City collects in one cycle within five days after the pile begins, and it can't move them to another site unless the City Council has authorized that site. A roll-off on the lot keeps the brush in one place until we haul it.
Where can a roll-off sit on a Nederland job site?
Off the sidewalk and out of the ditch. Section 90-33 of the City code makes it unlawful to obstruct a sidewalk or curb without a permit from the City Council, and Section 86-29 bars refuse of any kind from drainage ditches. Plan on firm, level ground, an approach of 60 feet or more for the truck, and 21 feet of open air overhead, clear of low limbs and wires. We offer free site surveys when the lot is tight.
Can you set a roll-off at a house outside Nederland's city limits?
Yes. Inside the city, Section 86-30 of the code gives the City the exclusive right to collect household refuse, so our in-town work is for businesses, contractors and commercial job sites. In unincorporated Jefferson County, where the Census Bureau's July 1, 2025 estimate counts 33,710 residents living outside any city, we deliver to homes, acreage and job sites alike.
