*The price of a dumpster rental in Shenandoah, TX is based on size, material, time, and distance within the region.
Shenandoah sits on I-45 nine miles south of Conroe, the Handbook of Texas notes, and the City’s own history says it grew from a 500-home bedroom community into a city in 1974. Within the city, we supply hotels, restaurants, medical offices and the contractors who build them out with bins and roll-offs. East of the interstate, homes and lots in unincorporated Montgomery County, Tamina among them, can book any roll-off size.

How a Frontier drop works
- 1
Tell us the job
What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.
- 2
Get the right size
Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.
- 3
We set it down
On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.
- 4
Call when it’s full
We haul it away and handle the disposal.

Draw the dumpster pad before the slab
Shenandoah’s Integrated Development Code, adopted April 13, 2011, treats the trash corner of a new commercial building as part of the site plan. Section 5.7.3 sets the terms:
| The code asks for | On the site, that means |
|---|---|
| A dumpster spot drawn on the building plans, clear of parking spaces, right-of-way and sight lines | Settle where the bin lives before the paving goes down |
| Brick walls at least 8 feet tall on three sides, at least 10 by 14 feet inside, and a 10-foot clear gate with a lock and keeper latches | Our 8-yard bin, 72 inches wide, 75 deep and 72 tall on its tab above, sits inside with room to spare |
| A truck approach with no backing onto a public street, and no drains inside the enclosure | Keep the service aisle open and handle drainage outside the walls |
Between pickups, Section 5.7.3 keeps the bin inside its enclosure. While the building goes up, the job’s roll-off needs a spot of its own: hard, flat ground with at least 60 feet of approach for our truck and 21 feet of clearance overhead, away from the future enclosure.
Hotels, hospitals and kitchens along I-45
On paper it’s a small place: 3,833 residents, by the Census Bureau’s Vintage 2025 estimate for July 1, 2025. The I-45 frontage tells a different story. Visit Shenandoah, the City’s convention and visitors bureau, lists 13 hotels and more than 60 restaurants, and the City says sales tax brings in about 70% of its revenue. The Metropark Square district, set up by an ordinance adopted January 25, 2017, makes room for retail, restaurants, offices, hotels and apartments on one site.
Health care gets its own chapter of the City code, adopted May 23, 2012, for major hospitals of 200 beds or more. Medical and infectious waste never goes in our containers, but the drywall, ceiling tile and carpet from a suite renovation can, and so can a restaurant’s everyday trash on a weekly schedule. Here’s how scheduled small-business bins along the I-45 frontage work.
Harvey's high water on David Memorial
Floodwater here tends to find the interstate. NOAA’s Storm Events Database logged high water along I-45 in Shenandoah on September 9, 2001, the same day Cochran’s Crossing in The Woodlands flooded. As Harvey’s first rain band moved in on August 26, 2017, NOAA’s records show flash flooding on parts of I-45 between The Woodlands and Conroe, and the database’s Harvey entry for Montgomery County lists the 19000 block of David Memorial, from Sam’s Club to Shenandoah Park, among the roads made impassable by high water. A flooded ground-floor hotel wing or office suite sheds soaked carpet, pad and drywall, and roll-offs for flood-damaged hotel rooms and offices carry that tear-out away.

Shenandoah dumpster rental questions
Can a Shenandoah home sign up for Frontier trash service?
No. Homes in the city have trash pickup through the City's contract, and the City's own FAQ says that contract doesn't let other companies serve residential homes. The City's bulk day, the first Tuesday of each month, takes up to 6 cubic yards per household but turns away construction and demolition debris and commercial or landlord cleanouts, so a builder's tear-out still needs a roll-off. Conroe, up I-45, is one of the cities Frontier serves as official waste service provider; here is the curbside service Frontier runs for Conroe homes.
Is Tamina part of Shenandoah?
No. Community Impact, reporting on February 23, 2026, calls it "the unincorporated community of Tamina," and the Handbook of Texas places it a mile east of I-45. What ties it to the City is pipe: Shenandoah is building a sanitary sewer system and a new water system there that will connect to the City's, and the City's project page schedules construction from November 2023 through October 2026. Tamina was founded in 1871 as a Freedmen's settlement, the same page notes. Homes and lots in Tamina can order whichever of our three roll-offs fits the job.
My business has a The Woodlands address. Is it in Shenandoah?
Check the city line, not the mailing address. The Census Bureau's geocoder puts 9250 Pinecroft Drive, the address of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, inside Shenandoah, and Section 91-3 of the City code says hospital signs bearing the words "The Woodlands" must carry the Shenandoah logo on both sides. Inside the city, the enclosure rules above apply to new commercial buildings. If the property sits in The Woodlands Township instead, see our roll-off page for The Woodlands Township.
