*The price of a dumpster rental in Carrollton TX is based on size, material, time, and distance within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Carrollton spreads across three counties: the North Central Texas Council of Governments’ January 1, 2026 estimates put 83,615 of its 138,131 residents in Denton County, 53,753 in Dallas County and 764 in Collin County. Household trash goes through the City’s contracted hauler, so we handle the jobs that outgrow a curb pile: remodels, re-roofs and job sites get a roll-off in the 20, 30 or 40-yard size, and businesses get bins from 2 to 8 yards.

Front curb only, three yards at a time
Under the City’s solid waste contract, each Carrollton house can put out up to 3 cubic yards of brush and another 3 cubic yards of bulk each week, both at the street curb in front of the house, even on blocks where the carts go out in the alley. The City’s rules say piles can’t go out before 6 p.m. the night before, limbs must be cut to 4 feet and bundled no heavier than 40 pounds, and anything over the limit gets tagged and left behind. Brick, tile, stone, concrete blocks, railroad ties and tires aren’t taken at all. Neither is debris a contractor produced: the City tells residents to make the contractor haul it away as part of the job.
Our roll-offs take the masonry and the contractor debris, though tires still can’t go in. Concrete, brick and roofing are on our 20-yard card, and here’s how the three boxes stack up. Keep the container off the street and out of the alley: Carrollton’s code makes it unlawful to obstruct a street, alley or sidewalk (Section 53.01).

The storm that outweighed a year of bulk pickup
Early on May 28, 2024, a bow echo swept across the northern parts of Dallas-Fort Worth, and NOAA’s Storm Events Database records many trees down across Carrollton’s roadways. By August 1, the City reported an estimated 28,383 tons of storm debris collected, more than the 18,412 tons of brush and bulk it picked up in all of 2023. On March 4, 2025, an amateur radio operator measured an 82 mph gust about a mile southeast of Hebron Parkway and Josey Lane, according to NOAA, and crews working for the City collected another 9,042 tons of storm debris over six weeks, the City said that April.
The 2024 special collection was only for residents’ storm debris, and the City spelled out the exception: when a resident hires a roofer for a repair or a replacement, the roofer should dispose of that debris as a normal course of business. Roofing is on our 20-yard card, and here’s a roll-off sized for the old shingles.
High water at Josey and Sherwood
Josey Lane flooded in July 2025 and again in June 2026. On July 12, 2025, the Josey flood gauge read a foot of water between Keller Springs Road and Sherwood Lane, and a westbound train got stuck in high water at the Josey and Sherwood crossing, NOAA’s storm records note. On June 19, 2026, there were numerous high-water rescues across Carrollton, including at Sherwood and Josey, Nix Road and Fyke Road, and Hutton Drive and Belt Line Road. Once floodwater gets inside, wet carpet and drywall usually have to come out, and a container for flood-soaked drywall keeps that pile off the lawn.

What's going up near I-35E
The City’s own pages point to three projects:
Trinity Mills Station. The City’s economic development office lists 125,000 square feet of Class A office and 21,000 square feet of retail and amenity space at the site, where the apartments were finished in December 2025 and office construction is slated to begin.
I-35E Phase 2. TxDOT’s project will widen the main lanes from six to eight between I-635 and the Denton County line, the City says.
Street bond. On May 2, 2026, voters approved Proposition A, $164,500,000 for street improvements, according to the City’s canvass.
Office is the first use on our 30-yard card, and the 40 is listed for large construction and demolition. When the storefronts open, a bin sized for a small business can go on a weekly schedule.

Carrollton dumpster rental questions
Can a contractor's debris go out with my bulk pile?
No. Carrollton's code says bulk is collected only when the occupant generated it (Section 50.21), and the City tells residents to require contractors to remove project debris. Brick, tile, stone and concrete blocks are refused at the curb no matter who produced them. Residents can haul up to 6 cubic yards a month, construction debris included, to Camelot Landfill in Lewisville on Saturday mornings in a personal vehicle with the load tarped, the City says. For anything bigger, call (888) 854-2905.
Does an HOA common area get City pickup?
No. The City says its residential collection agreement doesn't cover common areas maintained by homeowner or neighborhood associations, and that waste and brush from those areas should go to a commercial hauler or leave with the landscaping company. For a big common-area cleanup, look at the 40-yard, which our size cards pair with large landscaping jobs.
Who picks up old paint and pool chemicals?
The City's program comes to your front porch, by appointment. Carrollton's residential customers can have household hazardous waste and electronics collected at home at no additional cost: call 469-451-3713 to schedule, and a collection kit arrives in the mail. The City's instructions say containers must be labeled and 5 gallons or smaller, and the bag goes on the porch, not the curb. None of it can ride in a roll-off; here's the list of things our trucks won't carry.
