Irving runs its own Solid Waste Services department, from curbside collection to the Hunter Ferrell Landfill, and any private company that collects trash in the city needs a franchise from the City Council. Frontier Waste is on the City’s list of franchised commercial haulers. For remodels, re-roofs and construction sites across Irving, we deliver 20, 30 and 40-yard roll-offs, and our commercial bins, 2 to 8 yards, go out on set pickup days.

How a Frontier drop works
- 1
Tell us the job
What’s going in the container, and where it has to sit.
- 2
Get the right size
Heavy debris like shingles and concrete goes in a smaller box. Bulky junk goes in a bigger one.
- 3
We set it down
On firm, level ground with a clear approach for the truck.
- 4
Call when it’s full
We haul it away and handle the disposal.

In Irving's code, the tub is C&D and the toilet isn't
Irving defines construction and demolition debris broadly. Section 33-1 of the city code lists tubs, sinks, countertops, flooring, cabinetry, doors, windows, sheetrock, insulation, roofing, fencing, concrete and brick, among others, and the one fixture it carves out is a toilet set out for collection. Section 33-13.1 says the City won’t collect C&D of any kind, and Section 33-13 leaves whatever a contractor or other service provider produces for that provider to remove. Weekly bulky pickup also stops at four items, according to Solid Waste Services.
That leaves a bathroom gut or a fence replacement with two routes. Irving residents can take C&D to the Hunter Ferrell Landfill at standard fees, with a photo ID and a current utility bill or lease at the same address, and roofing loads also need a roofing permit in the resident’s name. Or keep it on site: our 30-yard card lists home renovation projects, and a roll-off for the tear-out sits on the driveway until the work is finished.

EF-1 tornadoes in 2023 and 2025
On March 16, 2023, a tornado that formed in north Grand Prairie crossed into south Irving and damaged the roof of an apartment complex on Shady Grove Road just east of Belt Line Road, where the National Weather Service survey estimated EF-1 winds of 105 mph. Five minutes later, a second EF-1 formed near MacArthur Boulevard and State Highway 183 and damaged a car dealership’s showroom roof and facade, NOAA’s records show. At 5:24 a.m. on March 4, 2025, a brief EF-1 damaged the roof of nearly every building at the Tree Country Apartments, and the Irving Police Family Advocacy Center lost half its roof, according to NOAA’s Storm Events Database, which puts peak winds there at 110 mph. The same line of storms damaged shingles on homes from Nimitz High School toward Irving Boulevard.
Irving’s code expects its franchised haulers to make extra collection equipment available to the City after a disaster (Section 33-18.22). For a roof at home, here’s a dumpster for your own re-roof.
No bins on the City's business route
Irving’s own commercial trash service is bags at the curb. Businesses and places of worship that opt in get pickup twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays north of SH 183 and Mondays and Thursdays south of it, and the City’s Solid Waste Services page says no bins, containers, dumpsters or compactors will be serviced. An organization that opts out has to hire one of the City’s franchised commercial haulers.
Office towers in Las Colinas, the area the City calls the “Headquarters of Headquarters,” fall under the same rule, and the City counts eight Fortune 500 headquarters in Irving. Our 2 to 8-yard bins can be emptied up to six times a week, and the 2, 3 and 4-yard sizes can come on casters. Mind the placement rules, too: Section 33-18.22 keeps containers off curbs and out of the public right-of-way, fire lanes and required parking spaces. For a shop or a small office, see commercial service for smaller businesses.
Paint and motor oil go out by appointment
In Irving, some household chemicals can be picked up at home. The City says Solid Waste Services will pick up sealed household paint (one 5-gallon container or five 1-gallon containers per collection day), used motor oil and filters, antifreeze, cooking oil and car batteries if you call (972) 721-2232 by 9 a.m. on a trash collection day. Lithium batteries are the exception: crews won’t take them at the curb and the Hunter Ferrell Landfill turns them away, so the City sends them to its Home Chemical Collection events or the Dallas County center, free for Irving residents. None of these belong in a roll-off; here’s everything we can’t take in a container.

Irving dumpster rental questions
Is Frontier allowed to collect trash in Irving?
Yes. Running a solid waste collection service in Irving takes a franchise granted by the City Council (Sections 33-17 and 33-18.4), and Frontier Waste is on the City's list of franchised commercial haulers with our (888) 854-2905 number. Businesses that opt out of the City's bag pickup have to choose a hauler from that list.
Can the roll-off sit at the curb or in a parking space?
No. Section 33-18.22 of Irving's code says no one may place collection equipment or commercial containers on a curb, in the public right-of-way, in a fire lane or in a required parking space, or where it blocks traffic, intersection sight lines or utilities. Plan on the driveway or the lot. Our trucks need a hard, flat surface, 60 feet or more of room to approach, and 21 feet clear overhead, so mention trees and wires when you call.
Can you swap my container on a Sunday?
Not near a house. Irving's code bars collection within 300 feet of a residence before 6 a.m. or after 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and all day on Sundays (Section 33-18.22). When the container sits near homes, plan swaps and pickups for daytime Monday through Saturday.
